We make our beds in which to lie,
To cover ourselves before we die,
And we spin our social web
Around this self-same bed,ย
To catch some unsuspecting soul
To fill in our heart’s gaping hole,
But we consume all our victims
According to Nature’s dictums,
Or else they break entirely free
And fly to where we cannot see,
But there is perhaps a better way,
More promising to spend our day,
Walking the divinely human maze
To meet another person’s face
In which we trace our very own
From an eternity hitherto unknown
Note: Inspired by Flamingle’s post entitled, “Alone.” Thank you for the inspiration!
That’s incredible! I love how profoundly true your words are. Beautiful work! Thank you for sharing this!๐ Be Blessed. Andrea๐พ๐
Thank you so very, very much for your kind words! Blessing to you as well!
You always have a way of making me nod my head relating and agreeing. Thanks.
Ah, thank you so very much! ๐
Profound words, Jonathan. I love them. I see you dropping by my blog. I’ve been busy taking care of every little detail on the Amazon account so sorry not to respond to you sooner. I saw many of your previous posts about your experience. It’s good for you continue to write about that in between your poetry.
You wanted to know when my book is available. https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=miriam+hurdle.
That’s the link, both paperback and Kindle are ready. Take a look and tell me what you think. Kindle is in color with some of my favorite photos and several paintings. I can’t afford to list the paperback as color – no one would pay $30 for it, so it’s B&W.
Oh thank you so much, Miriam! And I totally understand about being super busy with a demanding project. I’ve undertaken one myself… In fact, to write a book! (How this will go over, only heaven know! LOL) At any rate, thank you, too, for the link! I’ll certainly check it out ASAP, and when I am next paid, I will most assuredly procure a copy of your paperback. (I still like to hold an actual book in my hands! ๐ LOL) Blessings to you!
Hi Jonathan, I’m happy to hear that you’re working on your book. I could let you know what I did for formatting and publishing. You could go to KDP to set up an account first. I had an account with Create Space a year ago without doing anything. By the time I was ready, it was combined with KDP and transferred me.
Thank you so much for (future) ordering of my book and you kind wishes. ๐
Oh, Jonathan, if you do get my book, would you please write a review on Amazon. I like to build up some reviews. Thank you so much!
Yes, I would be honored… In fact, I’d already planned on it! ๐ (I just looked at your book on Amazon, and it looks terrific โฆ very beautiful with moving and enticing, soul-deep, heartfelt poetry. I really look forward to getting my copy!
I appreciate you doing it for me. Yes, the poetry is my memoir reflecting the pain, suffering and thanksgiving! ๐
Marvelous!
Thank you Patty!
