The storm came and went
With destruction in its wake
Like all storms hell-bent

In Elder Days
In the elder days
They abandoned better ways
And entered hell’s maze
No one entered in
To ask forgiveness for sin
To again begin
All good forsaking
Memories were left standing
And children weeping
In our own blind way
Do we do better today?
And what do we say?
Note: This poem is comprised of four haikus running along one theme . . . Hope you enjoy. Blessings to one and all!
Happy Anniversary to Me (Triple Haiku)
It has been six years
Through many toils, trials and tears
And not a few fears
And since we first met
Blogging has been an outlet
And no better bet
So thank you WordPress
For giving me an address
A place to express
Note: Today is my sixth anniversary with WordPress, and what a six years it has been in my life! Through mountaintop experiences and many low and dark valleys, I’ve been blogging here for 72 months (and counting.) Not to be overly dramatic about it all, but I can honestly say we’ve seen a lot together. . . I especially think now, too, of so many fellow bloggers who have come and gone (and wonder where they have gone and why they went.) At any rate, WordPress gave me a chipper ‘Happy Anniversary,’ so this is mine back to WordPress. Now let’s celebrate!
Out of the Funk (Triple Haiku)
Need to find new ways
And rise up to brighter days
Get out of this haze
Crawl out of this funk
Get rid of all of the junk
Stop feeling so punk
Spring has arrived
Winter has been survived
New plans connived
Mourning and Morning (Triple Haiku)
Feeling out of sorts
Out of place and contorted
Only sad reports
Fired by myself
Only to be rehired
But I am tired
Darkness of mourning
Brighter hope with the morning
And no more scorning
Venture Forth (Triple Haiku)
Move beyond your room
Make your house more than a tomb
Go outside and bloom
There is much to see
And so much to do and be
Let yourself be free
Fear not the unknown
Ignore the chill in your bones
Grow beyond your moans
Waters of Refreshing (Triple Haiku)
Sweetest morning rain
Wash away all of my stains
My life to regain
O noontime showers
Cleanse all of my heart’s bowers
No more to cower
Dearest evening mist
In you let goodness consist
To bathe me persist
My Heavenly Dove
See your lovely face
My eyes every line do trace
Erase my sorrow
All love within Love
My only heavenly Dove
Covered by your wings
Hope springs eternal
In our fraternal union
Loving communion
Gate of Love (Triple Haiku)
No, it’s not too late
To open the gate of love
Feel rain from above
Just around the bend
And your time is yours to spend
Try upending hate
Do not take the bait
Of self-centered, selfish pride
In great love abide
Hope is Beautiful (Triple Haiku)
Said the little bird,
‘Hope is a beautiful word,’
And sang her long song
Now nothing is wrong
With hope as my cheery song
I sing with the bird
And I am assured
Hope is a beautiful word
As said the wise bird
