Keep Dreaming the Dream

Dream the dream of healing and reconciliation, liberation, and restoration

Of speaking truth in love, healing with compassion, kneeling in humility,

Of walking arm in arm, talking heart to heart, of playing the better part,

Of building a new society, living in propriety, of working quietly in piety,

Of honesty, constancy, comradery, equality, and all fairness in polity,

Of playing instead of fighting, singing and dancing instead of backbiting,

Dream the dream into reality with finality this Day and forevermore!

Happy Martin Luther King Day

In Your Inner Space

Tripping over exotic eye wire, ripping through veil of flesh into your soul

To see the whole of your world, read the scroll of your mystical heart

Not in part but from start of an alluring childhood so misunderstood

But we play there, rest and pray and jest there, sing, dance and hide away

And stay the night till morning dawn in your inner space laced in mystery

No history but what we make our own to own for the two of us in one

And I am happy inside you looking thru your eyes to spy the space outside

Alive more now that I’ve been torn away, born away into your inner space

Shattered and Blown Away

Spinning atop the world as the world blows us away today

Ever so confusing unity in fusion of souls now torn apart

But heartfelt love is an art of delicate balance in eloquence

Yet the cold, dark Cosmos knows nothing of this spirit dance

Or the stance we make and the chance we take to hold on

Even as another mold is shattered by an unseen hand

In command of the destinies of all lovers young and old

Together Two as One

Together two as one we are going, going somewhere beautiful, somewhere bountiful

Together we will gather ourselves together two as one here, there, and everywhere

Together we will be something wild, never mild, oblique in mystique, sleek physique

Together we will run two as one for fun, not to be outdone, with nothing cumbersome

Together two as one we are going, going somewhere heavenly, somewhere cleverly

Never to turn back from one to two

Never to part our ways in the heart

Captivated and Conquered

Love comes lightly into my languishing, lonely soul when you lure me into your arms, looking soul-deep into

my eyes, penetrating my fast pounding heart, proclaiming affection in whispered platitudes meant to placate

my all-too-delicate sensitivities so suddenly churning round in my spirit, my self plunging into your sanctuary

but how was I to know you were king of communion, knight of nightly affection, and curator of compassion,

altogether demigod of grace, in passion to never hasten, face to face, lips to lips, our feet and fingers entwined,

but will you keep me like this forever after, never feigning feelings of fervor, never a foreign drumbeat heard

in your soft serenades so sweetly sung in the silence of the sanctity of two soulmates shut off from the world,

and you can believe I would lie here ever beneath you and make your warm body my cold and happy burial

Kiss the Lips of Cosmic Beauty

Dark day storm, bright light of stars, wings of angels

Herald your heroic march as you ride on the wind,

And do you show your beauty in ten billion forms

Throughout the Cosmos of eyes twinkling at night

In the form of stars staring down upon this earth ~

Gaia your honored home, sacred sanctuary of souls,

Where multitudes of gods approach you in dread

And in wonder-love, bowing to your mighty majesty,

Chanting hymns of deep adoration on ocean waves

Like undulating valleys and mountains momentous,

And yet who are you in such terrible terrifying form,

May this child inquire in trembling staggering, Lord,

And will you grant even a glimmer of understanding

Even to me, who can do no less than willingly worship

As the Universe delights and rejoices in your presence?

Supernal Love, Chi to Life

Lover mine with lovely fair skin, open eyes, bare chest so smooth,

Hover over me with flute in hand to stay and play and plant a kiss

Upon my fit lips at the dawn of a new day drawn from your bosom,

And hold me close against the cold in an emboldened living passion

Born of your compassion for mortal creatures you mean to refashion

In the likeness of your light and life, love and truth, peace and beauty

As an everlasting answer to brahmin prayers that wear into samsara

And this chi shall then forever be free to be all of you to be all of me,

So play some life-giving tune of heavenly fruit upon your sacred flute

That this poor boy may ever rest in the riches of your verdurous grove

In the shadow of tall trees near the sea, waves lapping on a near shore

In your place beyond all places in endless space, laced to you eternally

Most Beloved: Song of John

My eyes penetrate your guise, rough and rugged, to visualize heavenly beauty,
Descended from an almighty Father of lights in an underlying sight of dignity,
Born of woman to be torn upon raising the horn of our salvation in benignity,
With bigotry plotting against your pure chivalry so spitefully to kill innocence,
But you loved with a vast, everlasting love from above, reaching me with love,
And in this was I made your beloved, O beloved, as you bade me abide in you,
Forever true til the death-dew of heaven rests upon my brow, then on beyond,
And on into eternity where once again will I lay my head against your breast,
Hiding myself in the nest of your arms, safe from all harm, alarmed no more,
With kisses of compassion in perfect affection not mired in too-human desire,
And then shall I sing my song, sweet and long, in you where I forever belong
