Dance Another Dance With Me

Dance another dance with me in distant dance hall delight

Take me in your arms tonight to glide over glittering floor,
For now together for some space of time in cryptic rhyme,
Unearthly power pulsating through our veins once again,
And hold my body tight this night in bold romantic delight

Catch my quivering heart in your soul to make me whole,
And control my impulses ever before life takes it evil toll,
When sacred curtain descends upon this sorrowful scene,
And we hear the brush of angels’ wings to bring the end

Yes, dance another dance with me in ever bright delight

Ode to Jamie: Endless Ages Just Begun

Hold my breath in your mouth, take it into your heart
To be part of your life, then heartbeat it out to me again
To begin to live as your soul in mine with mine in yours
To be forever more one in an eternal song just begun
As we dance beneath sun, then moon and stars off afar
And let me gently lay my head to rest upon your bosom
So radiant and strong, so warm and just where I belong
Through the night, tenderly held, caressed, and dressed
Only in your embrace, lying flesh upon flesh, at peace
And the wonder of you will never cease, only increase
Through endless ages young, our quiet song ever sung

Take Me, Hold Me

Hold me closely, hold me tightly and please never, ever let me go

Make me yours, make you mine and let me rest in your afterglow

Free me from my cage, take me onstage ‘n let me be in your show

For once tried, for in you to abide and we will let the world know

And all pain goes away with heavenly gain as celestial winds blow

I Went to the Sea

I went to the sea to see what I could see

But I couldn’t quite grasp the symmetry

Of clear blue sky and the waves so high

Keeping cadence with your last goodbye

And the sigh I sighed with mournful cry

In vain to try to win you back before I die

But did you care at all that I could not see

In the sea what I came to see in you and me?

By Lapping Waves: An Andaree

Hold my hand by the water of lapping waves

Take me to the cave of love that saves

And thrill me within my heart

But whole, not in part

So charming

Kiss

No harming

While you work your art

And shoot me thru with your dart

Before we lie prostrate in cold graves

Hold my hand by the water of lapping waves

Lap of Luxury

Blow through my soul to rekindle an unquenchable fire

That burns higher than the flames of shame and blame

Because I belong to you in a sweet surrender so tender

Which the very angels long to remember in the heavens

Leavened with grace and love from above that descends

Into your tender heart in which I take my forever-part

As I lay my weary head to bed in your valley to be fed

So graciously by your tree of life to be so young and free

Yuletide Song of Enchantment

Can I sing to you songs of the season for the reason of the joy we share,

And might I dare to lay bare love for you so soon as my holiday boon?

Dance with me round the tree ‘n prance in snow as a child free ‘n wild,

And leave me beguiled by beauty so perfect an object of lordly grace,

Giving chase to the better part of my infatuated heart I give but to you

In  our passionate Christmas rendezvous to imbrue with an innocence,

Nevertheless so wise that my soul could never despise,

And oh! How you hypnotize me with your angelic eyes,

But please never leave me to languish in monstrous anguish of desire

That burns like fire unquenchable, so condemnable in courts on high,

So never say goodbye nor fare-thee-well but let me live in your spell,

As we dance around an evergreen tree ‘n prance in pure white snow

Below the sight of the One torn from heaven to be born on this earth

To give us our full worth, while I sing the songs of this sacred season

For reason of the joy we share as we lay ourselves bare forevermore

Waiting is the Hardest Part

Waiting for you is the hardest part,
As it tears at the fabric of the heart
That is already in the clutches of love
Above all else, my dove, and it makes
For an excellent bout with doubt,
Wondering if he is really worthy,
Asking if there will be only disdain
Such that this waiting is but in vain,
Pulling at his very spirit to abstain;
Ah! But have we come this far in life
So rife with pain to throw away gain
Of love to be found in the sound
Of our two hearts beating as one?
So shall we meet and seat ourselves
Neath the same sun with love begun
And discover together if our destiny
Lies along one common path or two;
But waiting is still the hardest part,
Tearing at the fabric of this heart . . .

Resuscitation

Suddenly now, life emerges again to begin again,
Where once there was but dearth and cold death
Because of my choice made with an empty voice,
But you have other plans for this foolish man,
Plans that span time and space in pace with love
From above, and so now another chance is given
To enhance my days along the way of this life . . .
And she comes with candle alit in her sweet soul
To fill an obvious hole in my own where you had
Already carefully sown the seeds of compassion,
So suddenly this man can smile and laugh again!
. . .
Suddenly now, life emerges again to begin again,
Where once there was but dearth and cold death
