Battlefield Heart

Where have all the birds gone with their morning song?
Why are the days so long and the winds cold and strong?
And why does my spirit belong to the night with blight?

Rise up, O heart, and take your part in the battle fought!
This war has been brought to your own doorstep so fight
With all of your might even with no termination in sight!

Struggle with determination to victory over damnation,
And surely your Beloved will come to you in battle array
To lead your soul to bright light and the victor’s crown!

Come with the dawn, mighty Warrior
Into the foyer of my heart with sword
And reprimand this sickly, thick dark
By your powerful Word of command!

And my Beloved shall bring to me again the morning song,
And fill my days with love from above, so warm and strong,
And in my spirit there shall be no more night with blight. . .

And the Darkness Has Not Overcome

Blot out the sun, erase the stars till there are none,
And pull the full moon from high in the night sky,
And let the starkest of darkness draw ever so nigh,
He would not overcome the light from your eyes,
So fiercely piercing and bright, brilliant to my sight,
And all the thick, pitch black would just roll back
Like an ancient scroll without taking his toll on me,
For though I be blind to all else, I would see you
Shining in all of your beauty . . .

In you there is no night
In you there is no blight
In you there is no fright
For you are bright
For you are light
You are my sight

You are the ever-rising dawn to whom I am drawn,
And how do I feel when you peel off the darkness?
Safe and secure in the allure of your beautiful eyes!

Song to the Beloved #0403

Song of Light

There is no need to light any lamp in the camp when you are here,
For the light of your countenance shines so bright the dark hides;
You are the fairest of ten thousand, dearest of all of that is dearest,
And your eyes penetrate to the bone, cutting stone, even my own,
So that I never tire in offering you earth and wind, water and fire,
And all that I am even as you give me all that you are, my one star
Come from afar to love all as Love in Truth, and beautify as Beauty,
And so it is my only duty to love you as I have been loved by you. . .
And in skies of azure blue the sacred wind sings your serene song
Long into the day to stay in my heart forevermore where stores
Of peace are now kept as treasure for my pure pleasure from you,
O Beloved, brightest of light, and the better part of my own heart!

On the Night Train

What cargo do you carry as you come barreling through?
Is it good or ill to seal my destiny desperately or in ecstasy?
What passengers ride along and do they belong to the night
Or to the light? Are they kind enough to mind themselves?
And do you bring grain for the hungry soul or only pain?
Nothing is plain to see in such numinous rain; it’s insane!
But, then, what should one expect . . .? It is the night train

You Are Not Alone

We know you can make it through this valley,
That you can escape the darkness of this alley;
Only you doubt in your bout with depression
And repression of the fullest scope of real hope,
But that’s okay because we are here, very near,
And you are dear to us, thus we will not leave
Or forsake you to your burning burden alone;
Oh no! We know what it is like to hike this hill
And hear the shrill noise of fear in every part
Of the heart and feel a gaping hole in the soul,
For we are also children of the night
Who have faced this very same blight,
But we also found the bright light and alive life
To live not rife with pain but the greatest gain!
So we are here, too, to talk and walk with you
And, if you choose, to help you along the way;
You have nothing to lose and you are not alone!

Greetings, Thank You

Good morning, Morning Star! Humble greetings to your majesty, Sol,
Reigning so high in the sky, bathing now this side of gentle Gaia
In radiant light, so iconic of Light everlasting.

Fare thee well, most lovely Luna, sweet Selene of the night sky,
Mother of luminescence in dark, our stark reminder that the Light
Never dies, but shows forth Beauty even in shadows.

Salve cara terram, celestial orb who gently sails round Father Sun;
Saludos a usted, dearest Gaia, upon whose breasts we feed and live,
So many small children sometimes so reckless.

Another morning bathed in beams under canopy of blue-grand Coelum…

Thank You and Greetings … Greetings!

This Lucid Thought

For the Mad Hatter, aka Unbolt! Expanding upon her most poignant creativity… If you don’t already, you need to meet this talented wordsmith!

Open wounds … unbound and bright-red crowned;
How many of them ~ throughout my soul aplenty ~
In me, on me, and I cannot see; I can only be…
I don’t care; my heart lays bare as I stare
As light bores through, reaches my core,
And through each hole moves like a troll
So now I’m a filament in fulfillment of the infinite;
Light shines through the holes in my soul,
To be beacon to others so weakened by strife of life.

I Am … Still

This is one poem from years ago, actually, and one with an entire page dedicated to it and to it alone … because it expressed the depths of my soul then. It still does today… And so I just wanted to share this with my readers and fellow-bloggers — my web family.

dark_angel_by_senryuji-d5ctjeb[1]

I am the pusher, the user, the drunkard laid upon the floor;
I am the whore, the prostitute, the refuse knockin’ at your door;
I am the working man, poor man, the child starving in the night;
I am the sick, the diseased, the dying from an unknown plight…

I am the albatross around your neck,
The nightmare that will never go away;
I am the life of promise become a wreck,
The horror of creation, ever here to stay.

I am the rapist, heartless killer, the thief in the dark;
I am the demon, the beast, stamped with the mark;
I am the singer, the binger, the beloved movie star;
I am the doctor, lawyer, the friendless man at the bar;

I am your brightest dream that faded away,
All of your hopes and prayers for a better day;
I am the inescapable truth of life in this world,
The vilest evil, what makes the blood run cold.

And what will you do with me, saddled as you are ~
Such a troublesome burden, and creation’s scar?
Will you throw me away and simply let me be,
When you realize that I am you and you are me?
