Easter is not over, Easter is forever
Because the Love of God death can never sever
So endeavor to rejoice whatsoever
However in time you might take your pleasure
For Life is your soul’s grand lover
Easter is not over, Easter is forever
Because the Love of God death can never sever
So endeavor to rejoice whatsoever
However in time you might take your pleasure
For Life is your soul’s grand lover
Bent beneath a load of care, you dare to smile a mile wide,
And let nothing get you down, no frown for you, tis true!
And you dance in the rain, prance through big puddles
To muddle things up a bit, then you laugh, split half your side
To abide in your self-made heaven . . . You dare to smile
When peace flows below like the subterranean river
And makes you quiver with delight in sight of everyone
Blessed are you so truly among the mortal throngs
Ne’er to be wrong in any choice, only reason to rejoice
Oh the price you pay today for happiness without satisfaction
For your joy is not joy, just a toy with which to fiddle like a riddle
But you can never solve this puzzle since you muzzled Wisdom
And drove her into the ground without a sound, pound for pound,
And you’ve taken leave of your sense, sit in a corner and grieve,
While fair young Peace stands ready to give you new lease on life
Not rife with pain without gain and no strife, gift of gold not cold
If only you’ll make bold to kneel and kiss his tender, lovely feet
And wrap tightly round him, within him, bound to him forever
And to never pay so high a price for what only looks to you nice
As I’m reeling from feelings of uncertainty and anxiety,
You come to turn my mourning into dancing, prancing
Like the deer across the mountain slopes of your love
From above, even as you give me a newer song to sing
Long into the night free from the fright of every blight
With promises of more than a share in unending care,
So how can I not sing in the comfort you bring to me?
And with this, joy wells up with all the bells of heaven!
Happier days are coming, blooming within the soul
Of the one who waits expectantly with living hope
And expectation in anticipation of fresh joy untold
With bold confidence that happier days are coming,
Looming large on the horizon as prayers bear their
Weight in heaven above, from where all blessings
Flow as sacred wind blows, rushing in with answers
To supplications made in humility with the ability
To believe, relieving distress and dismay with rays
Of bright light flooding every part of the heart now
. . .
Happier days are coming, blooming within the soul
Of the one who waits expectantly with living hope
And expectation in anticipation of fresh joy untold,
So be bold! And hold on! Happier days are coming!
Suddenly now, life emerges again to begin again,
Where once there was but dearth and cold death
Because of my choice made with an empty voice,
But you have other plans for this foolish man,
Plans that span time and space in pace with love
From above, and so now another chance is given
To enhance my days along the way of this life . . .
And she comes with candle alit in her sweet soul
To fill an obvious hole in my own where you had
Already carefully sown the seeds of compassion,
So suddenly this man can smile and laugh again!
. . .
Suddenly now, life emerges again to begin again,
Where once there was but dearth and cold death
Anyone who looks can see
You hold the key to my heart
And unlock me when you please
With uncomplicated ease
Because I belong to you
And you are so true to me
Anyone who looks can see
In some sweet, mysterious way you ever abide by my side,
Like an ethereal river flows while numinous wind blows,
You course through my being and I am seeing the unseen,
And words do not suffice to describe the precise nature
Of our love, my Beloved, nor the communion we share
In the union of my soul within your very own where seeds
Of passion are sown in surreal fashion beyond knowledge,
And you sweep over me touching the deep of my very soul
Like none other can so that the sun shines its light brightly
Within my innermost self both day and night in every way
As I become your moon, reflecting your shining brilliance
With resilience because your love is always and forever
As in a sweet, mysterious way you ever abide by my side,
An ethereal river flowing with numinous wind blowing . . .
I love you in every way,
But you seem so far away,
And I don’t know what to say,
But I feel empty this day;
O Beloved, come to stay
And here abide, come what may,
Though love’s a high price to pay
